The Development Company of Magnesia, Greece (ANEM)

ANEM was established in 1997 with the aim to offer scientific and technical support to the Prefecture of Magnesia, mainly in the field of development policies that the Prefecture wanted to pursue. The Company’s activities expanded in order to cover existing broader needs of the businesses of the region and of the local authorities. Special emphasis was given to the support of SMEs as well as to the agricultural and tourism sectors. At the same time, ANEM got actively involved in actions that aimed more directly at the creation of new employment positions, within the framework of the Territorial Employment Pacts and other projects. The company is also actively involved in environmental preservation and development initiatives. Through participation in various projects the company promotes the development of alternative forms of tourism that are environmentally friendly.

ANEM will be involved in all five technical work packages and closely co-operate with the City of Halandri in order to achieve complementary effects.
