GTZ - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit GmbH, Germany

The GTZ is a worldwide operating company for international cooperation owned by the German Government. It is working for public benefit and its liability limited.
Its aim is to support the political, economic, ecological and social development in partner countries. GTZ supports complex development and reform processes and contributes to global sustainable development.
Since the 1990s, GTZ has been actively involved in various projects in Central and East European Countries. The collaboration with the EU administration and the knowledge gained in the various Twinning projects led to a well-structured network within the research and public sector and enabled the GTZ Twinning Office / Programmes of Public Sector Clients to manage complex research projects and steer consortia with a multitude of partners.
From the very beginning, GTZ focused on participatory approaches and innovative solutions. As leading agency in many projects, GTZ developed best-practice tools and methods that are of great value for the implementation of urban transport projects. The close co-operation with universities and research facilities ensures that GTZ’s work is up-to-date in terms of terminology, accuracy and adaptability.     

Due to its extensive expertise in managing international projects, and specifically EU-funded projects, the GTZ Twinning Office/ Programmes for Public Sector Clients will play a key role in managing and coordinating the TRANSPOWER project in order to allow the other partners to fully concentrate on the content management.
